Club Championship Qualifier / Captains Charity Sweep

This weekend sees the Club Championship Qualifier where the top 8 scratch scores will go forward to the Championship knockouts, the top 16 handicap scores will qualify for the Tankard knockouts. 

Running alongside the Club Championship qualifier is the Captains Charity Sweep.  The Captains Charity is JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) https://jdrf.org.uk/   

The entry fee for this weekend's competitions is £2.00, of which £1 per head will go to support the charity.

Mixed Texas Scramble - CANCELLED

The Centre has been given the go ahead to host the Golf in Scotland Texas Scramble on Sunday 2nd August.  As a consequence the planned Mixed Texas Scramble for Sunday is CANCELLED.

I am sure the mixed convenors will try and get another date for the Texas Scramble.  Watch this space!!

I APOLOGISE TO SOME PLAYERS THAT I MISSED FROM THE KNOCKOUT, IF PEOPLE ARE WILLING I CAN QUICKLY REDO SOME OF THE DRAW. THIS WOULD MEAN THAT THOSE OF YOU WHO HAD A BYE IN THE FIRST ROUND WOULD HAVE A GAME TO PLAY. IF YOU ARE AMENABLE TO THIS THEN PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP. SO THAT I CAN RECONFIGURE.

Gents Knockout competition for 2020

Here is the draw for the knockout competition this year;
IMPORTANT DETAILS;
1  It is Full handicap difference Low goes to zero other plays off the difference.
2  NO EXTENSIONS  We are under a time constraint so please make an effort to play.
DON'T WAIT FOR THE OTHER GUY TO CALL YOU.  Any match not played will be decided by a coin toss by the competition secretary.
3 Please inform Mike Stiell of the result of your match as soon as you can. So that we can keep an up to date board on the blog, that way you don't have to run up to the golf course.
4 Play is from the White tee's and rules of golf must be adhered to with the local rule for the bunkers!

IMPORTANT DETAILS

It has been great to see you all this past week as we get back into competitions.

A big kudos to you all for following the guidelines for the current circumstances. Although we are not quite back to our normal routines, we are getting there and hopefully sooner rather than later we can be as we were.

During this time there are a few things we need to point out.

As a golf club we play at Strathmore Golf Centre, many other visitors play the course as well and the committee has no say in that.

IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO STOP THE CAPTAIN OR ANY COMMITTEE MEMBER MID ROUND TO HAVE A TANTRUM ABOUT ANYTHING!!! 

Please wait till after the round or send an e-mail.

As for the competitions, we have had a couple of issues with the scoring for new members but they are all resolved now (I hope).!!

For your scorecards there are a couple of Major details that we need on the card to facilitate the scoring;

1  Your Name

2  Tees Played (On Wednesday and Saturday we have White tee AND Yellow tee competitions available, play the tee's that you wish to play.

3  Date  At the moment scoring may take place a day later or even 2 days later depending on when we can get to the course. We will try to ensure that your handicap is current prior to the next competition.

4  Competition name,  as above for the date scoring maybe a little delayed.

5  Scoring clarity,  Where possible put your score as Player A and the person you are monitoring as the marker, this will ensure that scores are not entered incorrectly.

6  Please sign your scorecard.
