We would like to remind members that the rules of the winter league have not changed in the past five years and how to work your handicaps are in the members handbook,and as per Congu info players are responsible for maintaining their own handicaps.
The person who collates the scores does it in his own spare time  and we only produce these lists as a courtesy.

I am sorry to say that the winter is almost upon us and the Winter Competitions will start on the 27th October 2013.

As a result of this the Competition Secretary will be putting the relevant winter sheets in the binder within the next two weeks.

As you know there are two winter competitions , Winter singles and Winter Doubles. These sheets will also be placed in the binder. Closing date will be FRIDAY 1st November 2013.

Due to the numbers currently involved in next Saturdays Gents Invitation Day, the Competition Secretary in conjunction with the Vice Captain have decided to plan for only 1 tee start which will be at 10.00am. The sheet for this competition will be WITHDRAWN on TUESDAY 10th September. The Competition Secretary will make the draw on Thursday as normal and anyone who wishes to play but has not put their name down should contact him by 12.00 on Wednesday 11th September.

The cost of the day will be £25.00 per team if you are staying for the meal afterwards. The menu will be posted on this blog on Tuesday. There will be no other costs. There will be prizes of vouchers and golf balls and anything else that the Competition Secretary can find in his garage.

Forthcoming committee vacancies

As the end of the season approaches, so too does the time that changes take place on your club committee. A number of current members are due to stand down from the committee at the end of the season and nominations for new committee members are sought as soon as possible. Please remember that your club cannot function without an active committee. The constitution requires there to be a minimum of 6 committee members and numbers will drop below that level unless members come forward to serve on the committee next year. We are currently examining the number of meeting that take place to streamline this aspect of committee membership. Please think about assisting your club by serving on the committee. Further information can be obtained from the Captain, Vice Captain or any other committee member.

Hall of Fame Regional Final

Monday 26 August saw Strathmore stage the regional final of the Hall of Fame golf championship. The club was represented by Mark Scott who won the club qualifying competition on 1st June. After a closely fought competition Mark ran out the winner of the regional final with a stableford score of 38 points, 2 points clear of the runner up. Congratulations go to Mark for this excellent win and qualifying for the Grand Finals, scheduled for Worksop Golf Club and Notts Golf Club (Hollinwell) on 23rd / 24th September.

NAPGC CHANGE

Hi all

Your Competition Secretary has been advised, last Thursday, that the above organisers have abandoned the qualifier at Strathmore. This is due, we have been advised, to the lack of clubs entering the competition from Scotland.

Therefore we have direct entry for two places for the finals at St Andrews on the 22nd September 2013.

As a result of this I will be submitting two names to be entered from Strathmore these being Mr Kevin James who won the handicap section and Mr Norman Dyce who was best scratch.

Please let me know by the 1st of August if you are unable to play and I will advise the next reserve.

Again my apologies to the rest of the golfers who would have played at Strathmore if it had not been cancelled.
