Just a very quick plea to anyone who could confirm the rumour, details of which are rather sketchy, that a 5-ball went out the other day, one of the players being the Captain, which resulted in a bit of a beating for the 3-man team. As we say details are a bit sketchy, though we are led to believe that those on the 3-man team are presently engaged in a campaign of "lieing low" in an attempt to hide their embarrassment.

The three senior gentlemen in question were threatened with forced removal of:
(a)dentures;
(b)bus passes, and
(c)zimmers,
if they won.
The Captain in question attempted to use this unspeakable crime to force the Sunset trophy, lawfully held by the Seniors (for many years), into his hands. Fortunately the plot was foiled. Ha Ha.
Rumour confirmed...but should either Russell, Jim or George buy me a pint I promise to keep identity secret..........

(c) bus passes,
the object being that the Gents would take over possession of the Sunset Trophy. This heinous plot failed as it rightly should. 5 balls are not permitted in rules competitions and the Seniors Section are considering taking other forms of action.
