JUST A REMINDER THAT IT IS NOW WINTER GOLF AND ALL BUNKERS ARE GUR.

IF YOU ARE TAKING RELIEF FROM A BUNKER THEN IT MUST BE NEAREST POINT OF RELIEF AT A POINT NO CLOSER TO THE HOLE THAN WHERE THE BALL CAME TO REST, NOT THE POINT OF ENTRY.

THE DROP ZONE AT THE 17th IS NOT FOR CLUB COMPETITIONS, THIS IS A CENTRE DROP ZONE.

FAIRWAYS ARE NOW ALSO PREFERRED LIES.

Winter Golf Reminder

IT'S COMING TO THE END OF THE SEASON AGAIN, SO TIME TO BOOK INTO STRATHMORE'S WINTER GOLF.

THE WINTER LEAGUE WILL AGAIN COMPRISE OF TWO CARDS PER WEEK OVER 19 WEEKS.

IT WILL START ON MONDAY 4th NOVEMBER.

ENTRY FEE AGAIN IS £1 FOR THE WHOLE SEASON.

ALL SCORES MUST BE ENTERED INTO THE PSI COMPUTER WITH THE SIGNED AND ATTESTED CARD PUT INTO THE GENT'S BOX (BIG WOODEN ONE ON THE LEFT)

ALL PLAYERS WILL BE GIVEN 75% OF THEIR PLAYING HANDICAP FOR THE WHOLE SEASON, THERE WILL BE NO WEEKLY CHANGES.

SCORING WILL BE BY STABLEFORD POINTS, AND THE BEST AVERAGE SCORE OVER YOUR BEST 10 CARDS WILL DECIDE THE WINNER. IF THERE AREN'T ANY 10 CARDS SUBMITTED, THEN IT WILL BE 9, THEN 8 AND SO ON.

THERE WILL BE UPDATES THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.

REMEMBER IF NO ENTRY FEE PAID, THEN NO SCORE WILL COUNT.

Gent's Fun Game

Well Gents,

Today's 3 man Texas Scramble was enjoyed by all.

Winners with a score of 60.4  were Wayne Balfour, Mark Tunstall and Colin Crighton.

Runners Up with a score of 62.4 were Andy Anderson, Billy McGregor and Eric Gray.

3rd Place with a score of 63.2 were Jim Falconer, Mark Melville and Alan McHattie.

AGM followed by Prize Giving and a meal.

One wee thing though, please pay attention to the writing on the Gent's Blog and not just the draw, as there is sometimes some interesting information there which can help you.

 Well done to the morning players who went out and played in atrocious weather, I stayed in with as Mike says, 'The Sugar Coated Ones' and drank coffee 😏

Congratulations to Eric Gray and Raymond Pollock on winning The Blind Pairs Team Challenge today.

Raymond also had a 2 on the 6th along with Jack Scott.

 Well done to everyone who took part in our Summer Knockouts this season.

They have now all been completed.

Singles - Scott Thomson won over Ryan Bertie 2&1 in a close Final.

Doubles - Gavin Greig and Paul Lothian won over Scott Thomson and Chris Flannigan 2&1 in another close Final.

Foursomes - Brian Duncan and William McGregor won over Mike Stiell and Kevin Drysdale on the 20th hole in a great Final.

President Sally Fenner's Funeral

 

Sally’s Funeral has been arranged for 10.30 on Friday 4th October at Perth Crematorium.

Thereafter to Strathmore Golf Centre.

Autumn Meeting and Yellow Stableford Results

 

Sad Passing of our President, Sally Fenner

 Sally has been an enthusiastic member of Strathmore Golf Club for a number of years. She has served on committee as Captain as well as holding other posts, and for the last few years has been the President of our Club, chairing our Strathmore Golf Management meetings with extremely good spirit and grit when required.

Over the last few years she has been determined, although constantly frustrated with her ankle and more recent her cancer diagnosis. She has been in hospital in recent weeks, moving to a Hospice room in Perth at the beginning of the week escaping the hospital environment and enjoying her visitors.

She will be very sadly missed by the whole club, and many of the ladies have been family to her in so many ways. She has continued the WhatsApp chat into this week and valued the connections and support immensely.
