Leitfie Links Championship - 2021
The annual Leitfie Links Championship was played today in lovely spring sunshine. The very small, quick greens was the undoing of many of the players.
However, congratulations go to Iain Butchart for winning Scratch Trophy with a score of 59 and to David Brown for winning the Nett Trophy with a score of 57 on BL6.
The sweep was paid out on the Nett scores and with 9 magic's 2's, they get their money back with a wee bit of interest.
Next week the season kicks off with a non-counting individual stableford in the Captain vs Vice Captain, details are in an earlier blog.
Pre Season Stableford - 2 - 20-03-2021
Thank you everyone again for a fantastic response to signing in for the competition and trialling the payments for sweep and two's. I would be grateful for feedback on all of the processes from booking to signing in to score entry and for payment of entry, sweep and magic 2's.
Well done to all the winners of the sweep and magic 2's this week.

Captains Drive In
Hello everyone
The annual Captains vs Vice Captains match which marks the
start of the golf season is due to take place on Saturday 27th
March. This year will be a little different, but hopefully the spirit of
the day will still prevail.
The selling of flags for the Captains’ charities will be a
bit different. Instead of flags being put out onto the first fairway a picture
of the first fairway (and rough) with a marked grid square will be used.
The process will be to pick a square or preferably, several squares, then put
your name against the corresponding line on the name sheet. A squares
sheet is available for both Captains and a prize for each will be presented
once the Captains have driven off.
The competition will be played throughout the morning.
Players are asked to book in online. Please note in Booking Zone 1 (08:30
to 09:30) we have 24 spaces for players who due to restrictions can only play
in 2 balls with the draw being made manually by the Captains on Thursday.
In booking Zone 2 ( 09:37 to 13:00) again the draw will be made manually and in
either 3 or 4 balls for members from P&K county. Alternatively, a sign-up
sheet has been placed in the Starter Cabin in which to add your name to the
list, please add your name to the proper zone. If you can’t get to the
club before, then please drop Norman Dyce and e mail where he will add you to a
booking zone. If you wish to play in your bubble please let us know and we will
accommodate you.
The competition will be an individual non counting
stableford. Players can choose which tee they play from, White, Yellow or
Red. Players must mark on their scorecard the tees they played
from. All players must mark a scorecard, there is no need to swap cards,
put your playing partner name at the top in Player A with your name in Player
B. The marker of the card should only put their score in the Markers
Column. A committee member will be at the 18th green to take your
total points and add it to the team you are representing
Both Captains will be at the new Starter Cabin to welcome
everyone onto the tee from 08:30. After your round of golf a hot filled roll
and a hot beverage will be available courtesy of the club, the Captains will
take your order before starting your round.
This is our long-awaited opening day of the 2021 season,
let’s have fun and enjoy the day.
Regards
Gary McLuskey

LATEST GUIDANCE FROM SCOTTISH GOLF
Hello again gentlemen
Below are the latest guidelines from Scottish Golf . Hopefully not long now until the remaining restrictions are lifted 🙏
Guidance previously allowed golfers to travel up to five miles outside their local authority area to take part in informal exercise using household rules.
Yesterday’s announcement to allow organised sport will allow four-ball play with no restrictions on the number of households; however, this is only applicable to members who live within the golf club’s local authority area.
Where golfers are required to travel up to five miles across a local authority boundary, players will be required to adhere to informal exercise guidance which is subject to household limits of 4 players from 2 households. or 2 balls
Therefore, changes announced yesterday mean that from Friday 12 March:
- Golf courses with a designated COVID Officer can permit organised golf for members who live within the local authority area. Play can take place in four-balls with no restrictions on the number of households.
- Golf courses without a designated COVID Officer, or where members are crossing a local authority boundary to play, can remain open for play with a maximum of four players from two households.
- Plans are well underway for the captains drive in and should be announced early next week
- Thanks
- Gary

CAPTAIN'S DRIVE-IN 27th OF MARCH
A little heads up for everyone. We are planning the Captain's drive-in for the opening day of the new season as per normal, but due to the current restrictions it will look a little different from past opening days. The committee and the centre are working hard behind the scenes to workout the finer details for the day and will announce these around the 15th of March
Thanks
