Repercussions of the Stormy weather

 Hello everyone,

We hope you all weathered the last 2 storms and that you and your families are safe.

As you are aware there has been a lot of treefall and damage to the golf course which Scott and his team are working hard to clear up.

With this in mind please note that the committee are establishing a local rule, this will only be in place until the committee decide that the course is back to full playability.

If you your ball land in a damaged or area affected by tree/branch fall, you are entitled to relief from this obstruction.  NO CLOSER TO THE HOLE. 

We hope that you will use your integrity to follow this local rule and realise it is there for your safety.

Turkey Trot

 Hello Everyone,

Unfortunately this year we are going to forego the Turkey trot for the gents.

There has not been enough response to make it viable. Hopefully we can get it up and going next year.

Important Information regarding Winter League and Knockouts

 Hello Everyone,

We are well into November and the weather has been very good for us all.

You will have received notification of your matches for the Winter Knockouts, both singles and doubles.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ENTRY FOR THESE ARE £1 PER PERSON PER EVENT.

I have received a fair amount of the entry fees but am still missing a few. If you haven't paid for your entry then please do so by the 21st of November. Failure to do this will result in your name being removed for the knockouts.

Some of the matches are already under way and it is only fair that everyone has prepaid their entry. This will avoid any ill feeling as the deadlines approach.

Thank you for your attention to this.

For the winter league please ensure that you fill out your card correctly, this includes; Name, Date, Week Number and Handicap. Failure to do so will result in a DQ!

Also please note that Bunkers are out of play for the winter season, and it is preferred lies through to the Green.

IF YOU ARE TAKING RELIEF FROM A BUNKER, THEN YOU MUST TAKE RELIEF AT A POINT NO CLOSER TO THE HOLE THAN WHERE THE BALL CAME TO REST. ( NOT THE POINT OF ENTRY).

Also all winter competitions are based on your winter handicap which is 75% of your summer handicap.

Wooden Spoon

 Hi All,

        Played on a beautiful sunny afternoon this event was as usual hotly contested and some very good scores posted this event was played sportingly and with some good banter. Congratulations to the Ladies for winning by 24 stableford points and handing the Wooden Spoon back to the Gents for the first time in a while.

We collected £157 for the SCAA charity, thanks to all for your generous donations to this very worthy cause.

CAPTAINS DAY

 Just a wee reminder about Saturdays format. It will be a stroke play competition off the yellow tees with spot prizes for up to 12 and 13 and above playing handicap. There will also be the usual sweep and 2s. The overall lowest nett score will be the winner of the competition. There will be prizes for the lowest gross and nett in each section but you can only win one of these prizes Can I also remind you that there is a coffee and bacon roll before you start  and pie beans and chips after your round. 

SO PLEASE ARRIVE IN PLENTY TIME

 On Sunday the 29th its the annual gents versus ladies match for the dreaded wooden spoon.

Unlucky for some, on Friday the 13th the  centre and golf club will be holding the seniors pairs open and as is normal for this competition they are looking for volunteers to do the various jobs listed below  . 

  NP/LD Markers put out on Course , Registration,  Raffle Number Sales and Draw,  Scoring,  Ranger,  Starting , Car Parking , Compile Results .

Please remember the club receives half the profit from the day , so any help would be much appreciated. You would not be required to attend all day just a 2 hour block would be a great help. There are signup sheets posted on the section boards in the clubhouse or let me know and I will add your name to the list
