Club Championship and Tankard Trophy
After a week of intense competition and high quality play, the finalists for the Club Championship and the Tankard Trophy have emerged. In what was a week of mixed weather, and for some mixed fortunes, the semi finals were played on Friday evening.
In a close fought contest where neither player was more than one hole ahead until the 17th, Scott Thomson beat Rory Tinker 2 & 1. In another tight match, Norman Dyce closed on the 16th for a 3 & 2 victory over Scott Robertson.
The Tankard Trophy semi-finals were hard fought matches with Jack Scott winning over Mike Bell at the 13th and Stewart Flannigan closing his match against Brian Duncan at the 14th.
Both finals should be close affairs given the current form of those involved. The committee encourages members to come along and support finals day on Saturday 7 July when the Ladies, Gents and Junior finals all take place. Good luck to all the finalists.

Presidents Cup - 21 July
In recognition of the Diamond Jubilee, it has been decided to enhance the competition for the Presidents Cup by including a number of spot prizes on many, if not all, holes. The committee would welcome the donation of prizes for this one-off event, either from members or any local individuals or businesses known to members who would be minded to gain some publicity by donating a prize. The individual or business donating a prize will have the opportunity to nominate the hole and the nature of the competition for the spot prize. It is hoped that the spot prizes will add to the fun and friendly competition on the day and will run in parallel with the competition for the President's Cup. Further information can be obtained from he Ladies or Gents Captain.

Another scratch league win
Congratulations go to our scratch league team of Norman Dyce, Iain Butchart, Chris Flannigan, Rory Tinker and Scott Thomson who notched up another victory (3 -2) at Auchterarder on Friday evening. Wins for Iain and Scott and halves for Chris and Rory saw the team through to victory while Norman was unlucky to meet an opponent who was on top form. With next week off, the team are looking forward to the final match of this round at Pitlochry on Friday 15 June. Best of luck to you all.
