Just a brief reminder that next Sunday (8 May) sees the local qualifying event for the NAPGC competition. The Scottish regional final takes place at Strathmore on Friday 5 August which will give those that qualify next Sunday the benefit of local knowledge at the regional final. The national final takes place over the Eden Course at St Andrews on Sunday 25 September.
The format is stableford and there are three handicap division - 10 and below; 11 to 16; and 17 to 28. This provides an ideal opportunity to gain a place in the regional final - the more entries we have in our local event means the opportunity for more qualifying places in the regional final. A big turnout would be appreciated.

Amendment to available tee times - Club Championship qualifier rnd 1
The first qualifying round of the club championship takes place on Saturday 28 May. Normally, the two qualifying rounds for this competition offer morning, lunchtime and early evening tee times. Due to course preparations for the Radio Tay Cash for Kids Open, scheduled to take place on Sunday 29 May, all greenkeeping staff will be working on the course, cutting greens, moving pin positions and tee pegs etc from 5pm on the 28th. It is therefore not possible to offer early evening tee times for this first qualifying round. A full selection of tee times will be available for the second qualifying round on Sunday 5th June.

Perth and Kinross Bell Trophy 1st Round Match
We have been drawn to play Alyth Golf Club away in the 1st Round this year and require a team of 5 for the match. The match will be played on Monday the 2nd May with a first tee-time of 5.15pm. A sheet has been put up on the match board in the gents changing room or text me on 07778 003958 if you wish to be considered.
A team has to be picked with a maximum of two players from any of the handicap categories.
A knowledge of Alyth and being in form will be preferred as these are the events we can do well in as our semi-final berth last year demonstrated.

Rory knocked out of Scottish
Rory Tinker was beaten 5&3 today by Craig Lawrie (Deeside) in the second round of the Scottish Boys Championships at Dunbar. By the sounds of it today was not Rory's best form.
Tuesday, 12 April 2011
Rory Through, Allan Out.
Rory Tinker is through to the second round of the Scottish Boys after a 5&3 victory this afternoon over Stuart Cameron (Renfrew) where he shall play Craig Lawrie son of Open champion Paul Lawrie tomorrow our best wishes go to him.
In yesterdays play Allan Easton was not so fortunate as he watched Andrew Cunnigham (Ranfurly Castle) birdie the first four holes that gained him a lead that Allan could not pull back. Allan was happy with his ball striking put could not find the putts he needed.
Good to see both boys competing at this level and we will see how Rory goes tomorrow.

Allan Easton is the new Perth and Kinross Under 18 Strokeplay Champion
Fabulous news from Crieff this afternoon as Allan Easton carded a gross 71 to become Perth and Kinross Under 18 Strokeplay Champion 2011. This is an outstanding achievement for Allan and reward for the relentless practice he has put in over the winter, the support he receives from the Centre, from the Junior Section over the years and from everybody at the club but first and foremost his single minded determination and talent.
He now heads off to Dunbar for the Scottish Boys Championship which starts on Monday, hopefully joined by Rory Tinker who had to withdraw from todays event with a back injury. Good luck to both of you!
Michael Brodie also played at Crieff this afternoon but could not follow his excellent round at Strathmore this morning with the same at Crieff but he has time on his side to make his mark.
Once again well done Allan brilliant stuff.
