On behalf of Strathmore Golf Club I would like to congratulate both Michael and Kirsty Brodie on their great results yesterday in the Highland Spring Scottish Junior Masters Competition at Gleneagles Queens Course.
For Kirsty to win the Girls Section and Michael to come second in the Boys Section is a great result, and a fitting reward for the hard work of the Competitors, Junior Convenor, Iain Bucthart and the Junior committee as well as the coaching staff here at Strathmore.
Sign up sheets for the winter competitions are now in the competition folder in the clubhouse adjacent to the PSI terminal. The three competitions are:
Winter knockout singles;
Winter knockout doubles;
Winter league.
Entry fee is £1 per player per competition and these should be posted in the gents box in the clubhouse in a sealed envelope clealrly marked with your name and the competition(s) entered. The closing date for entries is noon on 29 October. Entries not accompanied by the appropriate fee will not be included in the draws to be made later that day.
Lets hope for less snow and more golf than last winter!
As the end of the season is nearly upon us, could anybody currently in possession of any club trophies return them to the clubhouse as soon as possible to allow time for engraving before the AGM and prize-giving.
Just to let the Members who have signed up for the Norse Cup know, we would ask them to turn up around 11.15am on Sunday when the draw and format will be announced. There is space for 2 Gents to play and partner Ladies for this event, if any Gent wishes to play please telephone Jack Scott on 01828 670583 or 07860 850 703 as soon as possible.
On behalf of the whole of Strathmore Golf Club I would like to congratulate Junior Convenor Iain Butchart and the whole Junior Section on their fantastic acheviments this season.
To be runners up in the Junior Scratch Legue is indeed a great feat, all the more so when you consider that it is only in the last three years that we have had a team in this event.
The sporting behaviour of all our Juniors has won us much praise from other clubs.
Once again many Congratulations to all our Juniors.
I would along with the Gents Committee and I am sure the rest of the Gents Section and Ladies Section like to wish Strathmore Junior Scratch League Team our best wishes as they compete in the Final of The Perth & Kinross Scratch League this Saturday at Gleneagles. Their opponents will be local rivals Blairgowrie Golf Club. This year has seen the team under the guidance of Iain Butchart the Junior Convenor perform beyond their years with some excellent results and has put Strathmore Golf Club firmly on the Junior Golfing map. Once again enjoy the day and our best wishes go with you.
