Consecutive victories in Scratch League

Hearty congratulations go to our scratch league team in notching up two victories in the opening ties of the P&K Scratch League. Last week saw a 3-2 victory over Auchterarder with the team made up of Norman Dyce, Scott Thomson, Scott Robertson, Rory Tinker and Alan Easton. Last night saw a 4-1 victory over Pitlochry with the team made up of Norman Dyce, Scott Thomson, Iain Butchart, Rory Tinker and Michael Brodie.

Two hard fought and well won victories on home turf. With next week off, the team has time to consolidate form before tackling the away ties. Best of luck to you all.

Hearty congratulations to Jerry Wood who, after announcing to his playing partners on the 13th tee in yesterday's 3rd round of the 72 hole strokeplay competition that "I didn't catch that one very well", saw ( or in reality did not see but quickly learned ) his drive end up in the hole.

Strathmore win in Bell Trophy

Congratulations to our team who had a well earned 3-2 victory over Kenmore Golf Club in the first round Bell Trophy tie played at Kenmore today. Our team comprised Scott Thomson, Kevin James, Chris Flannigan, Gary McLuskey and Charlie Davidson. Wins were recorded by Scott, Kevin and Charlie while Gary and Chris suffered narrow defeats. This was a good away win on a tricky course.

Team required for Bell Trophy - Sunday 6 May

We have been contacted by our first round opponents - Kenmore - and the tie is to be played this Sunday, 6 May, at Kenmore. The Bell Trophy format needs a team of 5, with no more than 2 players in each handicap category. The team will be selected this Friday. A sign up sheet will be in the clubhouse but any member wishing to be considered, and who will not be in the clubhouse over the next few days, should contact the match secretary, Kevin James, on the number in the fixture book. Apologies for the short notice but information regarding this tie has only been forthcoming today.

The is a scratch and Nett Trophy and M Shepherd won the Nett with a 69 & Scott Thomson won the scratch with a 72.

SCORECARDS FOR HANDICAPS

We are currently experiencing problems with cards for handicaps going missing after being put in the Gents Scorecard Box. As from today can any Member who requires a handicap or who's handicap has lapsed please retain cards until all 3 are completed. Hand the cards together in an envelope to the Pro Shop marked for the attention of the Handicap Secretary.
Hopefully this will stop the problem and speed up the allocating of handicaps for Members
