Team For Match versus Taymouth Castle on Sunday 11th of April First Tee Time 12 Noon

Spoke with Taymouth Castle secretary on Monday and he confirmed they would travel to Strathmore with a team of twelve.

CAPTAIN'S DRIVE-IN

NERVOUS SMILES! before the big hit!




Over 70 members enjoyed an excellent day on Saturday as we witnessed the usual nervous Captain's Drive-In, but we are pleased to announce both Captain's performed to the highest level. Congratulations must go to the Vice Captain's Team in defeating the Captain's Team by the narrowest of margins. Above is the Gents and Lady Captain's action shot!

Mail on Sunday Match versus St Michaels

A Strathmore Gents team of Scott Thomson, Iain Butchart, Mark Tinker, Jerry Wood and Donald Thomson took on a strong team from St Michaels on Saturday in the Mail on Sunday competition.
The match was lost 4-1 with Scott recording our solitary victory.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED

S.L.G.A. Under 16 Open Stroke Play Championship
Strathmore Golf Centre plays host for this prestigious event from the 8th - 9th April and volunteers are being requested to help. 102 of the best under 16 year old girl golfers from all over the UK are taking part. The SLGA will be providing live internet scoring via GolfBox. Scores will be taken from players after every three holes. Volunteers will take these from the competitors and then radio these to the Live Scoring Base Station in the SLGA tournament office. Training in the use of the radio's will be provided. Help will alse be required with car parking etc.

If you want to come along to help please put your name on the sign up list which is just inside the front door of the club house, stating the dates you can help.

Non Members are more than welcome to help, so if you know of anybody who would be interested in volunteering, please add their name to the list.

Should be a great couple of days with some fabulous golf to watch.

Winter League and Winter Knockout Results

The Winter League and Winter Knockout competitions have beenconcluded successfully and have resulted in one player claiming the treble.

Singles. Tam Bennet defeated Norman Dyce at the 18th.

CAPTAIN'S DRIVE IN

Only 2 weeks to go to The Captain's Drive In and the start of the long awaited 2010 season of golf.
The entry sheets are on the board for the Drive-In, so get your names down and come along and support our Lady and Gents Captain who take on the Vice Captain's in this once a year showdown. You will be drawn in either the Captain's Team or the Vice Captain's team and the challenge is then laid down and may the better team win!
Come along and enjoy the day and let's see in the new season with a Long Drive by either Captain.

SENIOR BRITISH OPEN

Strathmore Golf Club has this year been invited to marshall one of the holes at Carnoustie where this is to be held. Those of us who marshalled at The Open last year thoroughly enjoyed the experience and gave us the chance watch the professionals at close quarters.

GENTS SECTION COMMITTEE

DUE TO THE RESIGNATION OF THE CAPTAIN,VICE CAPTAIN AND SECRETARY, THE REMAINING MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE ALONG WITH THE OUTGOING CAPTAIN AND SECRETARY AGREED TO APPOINT 4 CLUB MEMBERS WITH PAST COMMITTEE EXPERIENCE TO JOIN THE COMMITTEE.
THIS WILL ALLOW THE GENTS SECTION TO CONTINUE TO OPERATE, AND CARRY OUT THE NECESSARY DUTIES FOR THE SECTION TO FUNCTION NORMALLY. THE COMMITTEE WILL KEEP THE MEMBERS INFORMED AS WE PROGRESS TO THE START OF THE NEW SEASON.
