Catlaw Leagues

 

Catlaw League Information.

The Catlaw league runs each week from Sunday to Friday.

There are 2 leagues;

The Yellow Tee League plays from the Yellow Tee’s and is counted by Stableford points.

The White Tee League is played from the White Tee’s only and is counted by Strokeplay.

Entry for each league is £1 for the whole season.

 

The league is based on your best 10 scores from the whole season. You can enter 2 scores per week in each league.

Once you have paid your £1 (in an envelope with your name and the Colour of Tee’s you are entering for. Entered into the Catlaw Box, the middle box on the table), then your scoring will commence.

Please note if you have entered a score and have not paid your fee’s then that score will be deleted.

There are no tee bookings for this league you book your own tee time and sign in on through the terminal in the lounge. Once your round is completed enter your score and ensure your card is signed and attested. Place your completed card in the MIDDLE CATLAW box.

Captains' Drive-In 2025 - Results and Prize-winners

This year the Captains - Gavin Greig and Judy Goodfellow took on their Vice-Captains - Diane McLuskey and Craig Muir 

(ably supported by their teams through the rest of the field). 

As we gathered on the 1st Tee, we were sponsored to a drink of prosecco from Aitken's Wines, Dundee to celebrate the start of our 30th Anniversary season.  Thank you very much to Patrick Rohde who many of you will know at the club.  

In today's present company, there were 3 members who have been in the club since the beginning of the club in 1995 - Jack Scott, Iain and Dawn Butchart, who were photographed with the President and the Captains. 

92 cards were returned with a number of spot prizes won for Nearest the Pin; Nearest the Pin in 2; Longest Drives and of course the placing of the charity flags to guess where the Captains' drives will finish up.  

The charity flag placements were won by Conan Reid and Julie Izzard who received a voucher each and the Easter eggs were awarded for the spot prize winners.  

Captains' Team win by 1,476 Stableford points to 1,465 

The buffet was a superb hot and cold spread and thanks go to the centre staff who are always so helpful and nothing is too much trouble.  Thank you to those who helped on the tables in the morning at registration, Katie for providing the wonderful cake, Fred for agreeing to cut the cake and Ian and Ann Cameron who checked all the cards before count-up.  

Enjoy the 30th Anniversary season ahead and thank you to all who turned out to support and to play.

A wee bit of jiggery for this weeks competition.

From after Drive in, the Yellows will be going out in 4 Balls as we do not have enough times due to increase in the Yellow Competition.

Gentle reminder to those that still haven't paid their Club fees of £35, please pay asap as you will not be able to play in the Club competitions if you don't.

Can you also let me know if you are attending the buffet after Drive in as we need to let The Centre know by 25th March.

SINGLES WAS WON BY BRIAN MILNE OVER ALAN McHATTIE.

DOUBLES WAS A FATHER / SON OCCASION WITH DONALD AND ANDREW THOMSON WINNING OVER STEWART AND CHRIS FLANNIGAN.

WINTER LEAGUE WAS WON BY PHIL UPPERTON OVER DONALD NAIRN AFTER CARDING 40 POINTS WITH HIS LAST CARD.

9 HOLE MIXED PAIRS QUALIFIER

 

 You may have received an email from Scottish Golf yesterday regarding the 9 Hole  Pairs Competition. This year the format has been changed and clubs are not being asked to run a qualifier with the winners put forward for an area final.

 

This year if you wish to take part you enter directly through the Scottish Golf Website .

 

The rules are the same in that any pairing  (male /female /  2 males/ 2 females) is eligible. Closing date for entry is Monday 19th May 2025 @12 noon which is held at Bonnybridge Golf Course with a field size of 100 teams . Entry is £20 per team. So get in quickly to ensure a space.

 

Please remove this fixture from your Fixture Book on Friday 25th April.

 

SCOTTISH MIXED FOURSOMES

 

Lesley and Graham have also advised that this year there will be  NO  SCOTTISH MIXED FOURSOMES QUALIFIER  (as per Scottish Golf) on Sunday August 10th (previously Ping competition). Please adjust in fixture book.

YOU CAN SIGN INTO THESE COMPETITIONS UNTIL SUNDAY13th APRIL AT 12:00 WHEN THE DRAWS WILL BE DONE LATER THAT DAY.

ENTRY FEE IS AGAIN £1 PER PERSON, PER COMPETITION, SO IF YOU'RE PLAYING IN ALL THREE COMPETITIONS, THEN YOU WILL BE £3.
